Many Martial Artists from around the world would like to know who the Instructors are behind the
R.I. Shotokan Karate-do Honbu Dojo.
R.I. Shotokan Karate-do was founded by one of Prof. Larry S.L.
Martin's Black Belts, Shihan Christopher J. Dacey. A student since he was twenty-one years old, he is now
fourty-two, and this Godan is R.I. Shotokan's Technical Director. In 2003, Shihan Dacey asked Prof. Martin if he would
take over the Dojo. Technically, they both founded R.I. Shotokan, but it was Shihan Dacey's idea. Today, R.I. Shotokan Karate-do
Honbu Dojo still keeps going on.
